Welcome!

Byron Gálvez. Mexican Artist.

Few artists in history have jumped from style to style, and from media to media and managed to master all of them. Lithography, oil/canvas, drawing, etching, bronze, stone, murals, stained glass, mozaic, landscape architecture. Two dimensions or three: The breadth of Byron's work is only matched by its depth.

Through a career spanning over thirty years, Byron has been a prolific artist. His style, topics and materials have changed throughout the years: different styles, but always united by very strong aesthetic qualities. He was known early on by his dream-like drawings and his abstract landscape oils, he developed a unique style of figurative abstration based primarily on the female form, which he took to media as diverse as sculpture, oils on canvas, acrylography. Recently he has focused on urban art in a massive scale, designing a cultural center in Pachuca, Hidalgo.

Take your time and look through these pages, your computer monitor is too flat to do justice to the work, the texture of the oils, the vibrant color of the acrylographs, the dynamic movement of the sculptures or the sheer size of waking on a work of art measuring acres. But maybe we can give you a glimpse of his work, just as he, through his work gives us a glimpse into his mind and heart.
